FAQFrequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about cycleWASH®
Nico answers our most-asked questions in 10 seconds — the full FAQ is below.
What if a customer’s bike gets damaged?
The system is engineered so this doesn’t happen: a calibrated low-pressure spray and gentle EASYClick foam/PE Mylex brushes that never exceed pressure levels safe for electronics and delicate materials — field-proven on 1,000,000+ washed bikes. cycleWASH® is DEKRA safety-certified and protected by 35 granted IP rights. That track record keeps the wash process uncritical from an insurance standpoint; our team is happy to walk through liability details with your quote.
What does maintenance really cost per year?
Fully predictable: the annual maintenance contract is €1,000/year for Mini and Station and €1,500/year for Pro — covering routine maintenance plus a phone hotline (Mon–Fri). Wear parts such as brushes, hoses, filters, pumps, roller-drive motors, and drive belts are consumables and billed separately.
What happens in winter / frost?
All models are designed for indoor and outdoor installation and are weatherproof. For outdoor operation below freezing, the water circuit should be drained down or kept frost-free — many operators simply move the machine indoors or pause operation for the season. Our team confirms the right frost-protection setup for your location with your quote.
Can it wash e-bikes safely?
Yes. The calibrated low-pressure spray system is specifically designed for e-bikes and carbon frames. Unlike pressure washers, it never exceeds pressure levels that are safe for electronics, drive units, and delicate surfaces — suspension components and electronic groupsets included.
What warranty do I get?
Limited warranty per our Terms & Conditions. Wear parts (brushes, hoses, filters, pumps, roller-drive motors, drive belts) are excluded. When you sign a maintenance contract, an extended warranty of 1–5 years — matching the contract period — is available.
How long does on-site installation take?
The cycleWASH needs no complex installation — place it, connect it, wash.
How much water and power does it use?
Very little: the cycleWASH Eco mode uses about 3 litres per wash, the Standard mode around 12 litres — comparable to a pressure washer. Power usage is between 1–5 kW peak depending on the configuration.
How do I buy a cycleWASH?
Sold at list price. Machines are sold at their list price. From time to time we offer discounts or demo machines — visit our website to see current offers. Prices are net, ex works Cologne (EXW, Incoterms 2020); transport, insurance, customs and import duties are paid by the buyer. Export packaging is quoted separately. Payment: online orders are paid in full at checkout; orders placed by quote or purchase order pay two-thirds with the order and the remaining third before delivery. Lead time: From stock where available; otherwise usually within 3–4 weeks (all models) after payment is received. Delivery is confirmed in the sales order. For more than five machines we offer leasing, rental and financing — get in touch with us. Resellers receive up to 30% discount on the list price for orders of more than 5 machines of the same model.
How fast does it pay back?
It depends on your wash price and traffic: at €3 per wash and 50 washes/day, a Mini generates roughly €4,500/month in revenue — typical payback is 15–26 months. Run your own scenario in our ROI calculator.
Which model fits my location?
Mini — compact and mobile: bike shops, events, hotels, smaller footprints. Pro — fully automatic for high traffic: bike parks, large dealers, rental fleets. Compare all models on the machines overview.
How does cycleWASH® work?
The Mini uses wet rotating brushes to clean frame and wheels semi-automatically — push the bike through in three steps for a one-pass wash. The Pro is fully automatic — wheel in your bike, press start, and the machine handles cleaning and drying.
Can it run on solar power?
Yes! All models support solar power. All models can have integrated inverter, charger, and lithium batteries, making it fully self-sufficient for remote or off-grid locations.
What’s the difference between Mini and Pro?
The Mini is the world’s most compact bicycle washing system — semi-automatic, ideal for limited spaces. The Pro is fully automatic with options for integrated drying and compressor, designed for high-volume commercial use.
Is it safe for all bicycle types?
Yes. The hybrid brushes adapt to every frame and wheel size. It safely cleans standard bikes, e-bikes, cargo bikes, and more without damaging paintwork or electronics.
What maintenance is required?
Periodic water recycling filters need cleaning. Inspection and replacement of wear-and-tear parts during yearly maintenance — e.g. V-belts — keeps maintenance very low. Wash brushes on all our machines so far have never been replaced. Our team provides full training and ongoing support.
What does it cost?
From €17,500 for the manual Mini Station to €60,000 for the Pro Platinum with wash and dry — net, ex works Cologne. Every machine is priced on the site; the selector above narrows it to one.
Does it take contactless?
Yes. All the common electronic payment systems: credit and debit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Coin operation is available as well, and the payment terminal is a factory option rather than a retrofit.
Does it need a fixed water connection?
It depends on the mode. In ECO mode the machine recycles its own water and needs no fixed fresh-water supply — the tank can be filled by hand, from buckets if need be. A drain connection is required in every case. In standard mode it draws fresh water for each wash instead of recycling it.
What electricity does it need?
230 V / 16 A single-phase, through the cable supplied. Nothing three-phase, no special installation. For sites with no mains at all, the off-grid solar configuration replaces it.
How many bikes can it wash in a day?
A cycle takes about three minutes in fast mode, or around five in premium mode — so roughly twenty bikes an hour at the quicker setting. In practice your opening hours are the limit rather than the machine, and because it takes payment itself and needs no attendant, those hours can be all of them.
Does it need a roof if it stands outside?
No — it is built to stand in the open with no cover or canopy. A canopy is still worth having for the people using it, in strong sun or rain. The installations that work best go a step further: a bench to wait on and to set belongings down, a vending machine for soap, water, snacks and coffee, and some planting so the spot looks cared for. Where the site allows it, a fresh-water and waste connection, and solar panels on the canopy roof, are a strong addition.

Our commitment
Why this is built the way it is
Recycled, not consumed
Filtration returns wash water to the circuit, so a full wash costs litres rather than hundreds.
Built in Germany
Designed, assembled and serviced from Cologne, with parts available for the life of the machine.
Patented, and documented
Granted patents and certifications are published in full rather than summarised.
Numbers you can check
Consumption and payback are calculable against your own throughput before you commit.
