Water Recycling Technology: How We Achieve 85% Water Reclamation

How cycleWASH water recycling achieves 85% reclamation through 4-stage filtration — saving 55,000 liters annually. Frequently asked questions What are the three filtration stages? Stage 1: gravity settling tank removes grit and debris (98% of particles > 50µm). Stage 2: ceramic membrane filtration down to 0.1µm (removes organics and bacteria). Stage 3: activated carbon polishing removes dissolved detergents. Output meets EU bathing-water quality for the recycle loop. How often does the filter system need service? Stage 1 tank: quarterly debris removal (takes 10 minutes). Stage 2 membrane: annual back-flush + bi-annual chemical clean. Stage 3 carbon: replace annually. SPIRIT app sends maintenance alerts 7 days before threshold. Can I retrofit recycling onto an existing Mini/Pro? Yes, the module is a bolt-on for Pro installations (2-day install). Mini is not retrofittable due to size constraints — Mini with recycling requires the external Pro-scale filter cabinet. What's the cost-benefit for water-stressed regions? In southern Europe, municipalities increasingly charge €3-8 per m³ for potable water. At 500ml per wash × 60 washes/day × 85% recycling, the module saves 15,500 L/year — €50-120 in water costs, but more importantly, enables operation during drought bans. Closed-Loop Water Management

Our patented water recycling system reclaims up to 85% of wash water through a multi-stage filtration process. This means a cycleWASH unit uses just 0.5-0.75 liters of fresh water per wash cycle.

Filtration Stages

  1. Stage 1: Sediment filter — removes sand, grit, and large particles (50 micron)
  2. Stage 2: Oil separator — removes chain lubricant and petroleum residues
  3. Stage 3: Carbon filter — removes odors, colors, and dissolved organics
  4. Stage 4: UV sterilization — eliminates bacteria for hygiene (OASIS models)

Environmental Impact

Over a year with 50 washes/day, water recycling saves approximately 55,000 liters compared to single-use water systems. That is enough drinking water for 75 people for a year.
